Observing   from   real   life   is   critical   to   developing   drawing   skills.   What   better   place   to   do   so   than   in a   botanic   garden?   In   this   class   we   will   venture   out   into   the   gardens   and   practice   sketching   what we   see   in   real   life.   Participants   will   learn   how   to   draw   objects   using   geometric forms, beginning perspective, and   using   pencil   marks   to   create   texture.

Participants   need   to   bring   a   sketchbook, pencils, and   erasers.   Any   size   sketchbook is fine, but we   will   be   working   outside   so   a   manageable   size   like   8”x11” is recommended.  If you have watercolor pencils, they will be helpful too.

*Classes may be cancelled, rescheduled or moved to an online format in accordance with public health orders and/or inclement weather.
